Hubert Sefkovicz
The founder and managing director of HS Informatik, Hubert Sefkovicz, is an
IT expert with more than 20 years experience with IT organization in the high-tech sector and with planning und realizing innovative IT solutions.
His main interests have always been in the automation of complex work flows and in making new technologies usable for the day-to-day business.
Initially - during his studies of data technology - he was freelancing consultant for systems programming. After that, in the position of a team leader and project manager with the multinational IT companies NCR and AT&T Global Information Solutions, he was responsible for the devolopment and implementation of new IT concepts.
Already at that time it was shown in many projects that a comprehensive view and an adequate systemic approach are main key items of the success.
The special knowledge from that and the utilization of cross-functional synergies from combined specialist fields are the reason why HS Informatik, though it is highly specialized, is much more open than other comparable enterprises.

Among experts, Hubert Sefkovicz is already known since his activities as the leading systems architect of Hippokrates 3000, the first hospital information system in client-server-architecture in the German-speaking region, one of the very first big commercial IT solutions with object-oriented software in Europe.
As an outsourcing partner he is known to a specialist public from successful change management in more than twenty Austrian hospitals and from his activities as project manager and systems analyst during complex IT projects of the University of Vienna.
From the extended international activities in the recent years Hubert Sefkovicz meanwhile is also recognized beyond the German-speaking region as an IT expert in systems analysis, planning and design of hospital information systems and in the integration of administrative, medical and medical engineering subsystems into modern overall concepts.
It now shows more and more during IT projects in the healthcare sector that conventional and well tried solution concepts come to their technological and organizational limits. With the IT solutions that are on the market now, hospital spanning processes and data flows by far cannot be supported and optimized in a way as it would be useful and necessary from an economic and quality related point of view.
For the HIS expert Hubert Sefkovicz these experiences were the reason to begin seriously thinking about new innovative concepts and systems architectures for a "Next Generation Hospital Information System".
Efficient design changes of hospital information systems today are only possible in an international context. The collaboration of Hubert Sefkovicz with international medical engineering associations and his international lectures perhaps are a practical way too to trigger new foreward-looking innovations in the field of HIS again.
